Pete Steinke, April 2, 2020. Racine, Wisconsin.

Register before March 15 for Early Bird prices! In case of “life disruption” because of the coronavirus – we hope to offer this online.

“It requires conviction and courage,” Michael Kerr asserts in his new book (Bowen Family Secrets), “to move toward a new way of being.”

In a frenzied regression, society has few slots for principled and bold action.  Flexibility is impaired; blame is overused, Quick fixes proliferate, and the long term is cut short. Today’s high grade stimulation impedes impulse control. It’s a situation for the feeling system to flood the thinking system.  And the regression creeps into our churches and movement toward a new way of being is stalled.

Conviction and courage? Where? How? When?

On Thursday, the day Peter Steinke was supposed to be with us, we will present Unpacking Pete: The Teaching Legacy of Peter Steinke. Members of the Voyagers – particularly those who have known and worked with Pete since the early days with Rabbi Friedman, will present. We also will touch on Pete’s original theme of Conviction and Courage. This day is also open to the public.

For those who register before March 15, the cost for the day is $100. For students (with ID) the cost is $70.  Beginning March 16, prices increase to $110 and $80 for students.  Lunch is included.

If you wish to register for both days, the cost is $150 ($100 for students with ID). Beginning March 16, prices increase to $160 ($90 for students).

Contact Carol Jeunnette for information about discounts for judicatory staff members, and members of Synod Resource Teams from ELCA Wisconsin and Upper Great Lakes Synods.
