Two Open Events: Understanding Family: Window to Ourselves
Wednesday, March 27 – Introduction to Family Systems Thinking
Join the Voyagers for an Introduction to Family Systems Thinking, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at the DaySpring Episcopal Conference Center in Parrish, Florida. This introductory seminar will present basic information on Dr. Murray Bowen’s natural systems theory of human behavior and its application to congregations, organizations and leadership (including work by Rabbi Edwin Friedman). The importance of family of origin work for maturity, functioning, and leadership, as well as the opportunity to work on one’s own family diagram, will be offered. The cost for Wednesday only, including lunch, is $70.
Thursday, March 28 – My Four Biggest Mistakes and Other Family/System Observations
Kathy Wiseman is a business consultant whose work is based on Bowen Family Systems Theory. Her work with family firms and foundations, nonprofit organizations, as well as her work on herself and her own family provide a wealth of engaging and meaningful expressions of the helpfulness of a Bowen theory lens for understanding ‘what makes us tick’ and how to make the ‘ticks’ a bit more helpful.
Kathy has presented to the Voyagers several times, and has worked with clergy leaders in the ELCA Systems Academy at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for several years. The cost for Thursday only, including lunch, is $95. We begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.
